Continuing its 5th anniversary celebration, Flamárt highlights European and African influences on today's Latin American and Spanish musical styles in its presentation of Raíces. From classically inspired to folk songs, from passionate flamenco to poetry-driven art songs to romantic zarzuelas to a live drummer/dancer duet, this will be an afternoon of fiery and emotional performances. The superb cast includes Alejandro Salvia (tenor/actor, Cuba); Paul Boyd, Mary Carol Warwick (piano, USA); Monica Rojas (actress, Colombia); Timo Lozano “Rey de las Bulerías” (flamenco dancer, USA); Chris Howard (percussion, México/USA); Solangel Lali Calix (flamenco dancer, Honduras); Rául Orlando Edwards (baritone/dancer, Panamá); Solero Flamenco: Irma La Paloma (singer, Spain/Cuba) and Jeremías García “El Valiente” (guitar, México).
