Toby Atkinson is President of DataFace, Inc., a software company based in the Houston Technology Center. Upon graduating with a physics degree from the University of Oxford in England, he joined Honeywell Bull, rising to a management position in Paris, France, with responsibility for a technical support department covering all the non-English-speaking countries. Toby and a colleague left Honeywell and created a series of small software companies in England, Belgium, and the United States, with DataFace being the latest venture. Toby is the author of Merriam-Webster’s Guide to International Business Communications, published in the early 1990s. He joined the Board of the Foundation for Modern Music in 2003 as Treasurer at Robert Avalon’s request. He served for several years as Election Judge of precinct 037 in Houston. In addition to his interest in classical music, both modern and traditional, he likes modern dance, dogs, cats, and railroad museums.
